Default Problem with Loving (Recording)

Ever since the last update, if I try to love a song while listening to the satellite from within the buffer (i.e. I skip back a couple of songs, or pause playback for a while, then try and love a song from the buffer) the song will not record, yet it will come up with the 'Added to Favorites' message as if I was listening through the wifi. I know I am on live satellite, as I can pause, ff, and rewind, and the unit is in my car dock. I can record a song that is not playing from the buffer (i.e. playing live). I haven't checked to see if it works outside of the car dock, but I can try that if anyone thinks it necessary. Has anyone else experienced this? I know I have recorded songs out of the buffer before, has sirius removed this functionality?

mine does this too. I think you can only love songs to memory if they're currently playing but not from the buffer. maybe.

We can't save songs from the buffer, they have to be playing live and you must hit the love button before they quit playing. I have never known the Stiletto to work otherwise. Maybe I had never tried it, but I can tell you there was a functionality change in regards to recording from the buffer, so maybe you could before. Now you can't!

Yes, this is a confirmed functionality change!

Yes, this is the case.

It's a very logical approach; just ask the RIAA:

(1) "loving" live songs: good
(2) "loving" buffered songs: pure evil that will destroy the universe.

Yeah, I was beginning to think that this was true. Probably what I was seeing before (when I thought the songs were recording from the buffer) was that the love icon would show up, and then disapear in the next couple of seconds. I always just assumed that meant that the song was copied out of the buffer. Apparently that was never true, and now with the new update it tells you that it has been added to your favorites, rather than not saying anything at all.

I HATE THE RIAA!!!!

Question

When you "Love" as song in the buffer, it says "Added to Favorites"

But where do the "Favorite" songs go?...

To the MSS software so you can purchase the song from Yahoo.

I believe they only appear in a "Favorites" list when you attached your Stiletto thru the MSS.

This is so you can purchase them thru Yahoo! and the money-grubbing RIAA gets their kickback.

i could only "favorite" it also which is useless to me. I am 99.9% sure that I was able to love songs from the buffer before. You could never do it from a radio replay though.

I don't understand why they felt the need to change this, all we're doing is using a unit that we paid good money for to perform a task that we want (ie, have a replay buffer like a Tivo in case the phone rings in the car or something). I can't see an argument from the RIAA for much of anything with the Stiletto (except if we got the music off there that we recorded) because we pay a monthly subscription, hence they get royalties. I really think people just look for things to find fault with. How big has the RIAA's copyright division grown over the past few years? My views on "stealing" music changed a lot when I got Satellite radio. I never wanted to pay $15 for a CD that I only wanted to hear 1 or 2 songs from. Once I hit Satellite though, I haven't bought anything at all because Sirius has the playlist that I want to listen to.

you may have just had a fluke of a stiletto. Mine never recorded a song unless I heard some part of it live (ie, even the last few seconds). You are not supposed to be able to record songs that are totally i the buffer.
This came up when the stiletto first came out and it confused people just as much.

Isn't it true that you can still 'love' songs from the replay buffer with S50?
