Default Peter Jennings Dies of Lung Cancer

RIP to a great journalist...

Quote:
Nearly four months to the day since he announced in a hoarse voice on his evening newscast that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer, longtime ABC "World News Tonight" anchor Peter Jennings died Sunday, according to the ABC news network. He was 67. ABC's Charles Gibson read a statement from Jennings' family that said: "Peter died with his family around him, without pain and in peace. He knew he had lived a good life."

This demonstrates that you must live every moment like it's your last. So unexpected and sad.

God bless him and his family.

I was just talking about him the other day, saying how we haven't heard how he was doing. Very shocked to turn the news on today and hear he is gone.

He probably had the cancer growing in his body for years before finding out he had it, thats why he was in a late stage and lost his battle. I had mine for a year or two before even getting a symptom. Its amazing how this shit happens. My father in law quit smoking over 20 yrs ago and last year had a cancerous nodule found in his throat.

So to all you smokers, give up it up now before it digs deeper. Afterall, lung cancer is the only kind of cancer you can avoid developing.

RIP Peter.

We'll never see another 3 like Jennings, Brokaw, and Rather. The era of network talking-head dominated news is over, for better or for worse.

(I have a feeling it's for the worst... )

Nah. It's for the better. Thanks to the internet and the blogsphere, your "Big 3" no longer have a job. Technology now makes it possible for such agenda-based truth distorters to have to answer to the public; and the public has said "we're not watching anymore." Network news ratings have been plummeting for years, now. Eventually, those network news departments will probably no longer exist.

It is unfortunate to learn of Peter Jennings' death; my thoughts are with his family at this time. Of course the immediate reaction is to call Peter Jennings "a great journalist". I disagree. Peter Jennings was a terrible journalist. He did his absolute best to try and sway opinions with his own slanted opinions on stories, especially anything regarding Israel. Peter Jennings was no friend to Israel or the Jews. I'm Jewish, and he always disgusted me with his approach to being "a journalist".
