I'm not sure either but I've heard that several people from Ontario have said that gas is actually cheaper here in Erie than up north, but that was a few weeks ago. Ours yesterday was $2.89 per gal.

Have gas prices fallen in your area?

I just paid $2.23/gallon.

(I never thought I'd be happy to pay $2.23 per gallon, but it is sure better than $3)

I paid $2.51 yesterday. It seems to be dropping everyday. The government's plan worked. I am happy to pay mid to low $2 something a gallon.

It's cheaper cheap around here (Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, Michigan). As low as $2.13! Seems to keep going down.

Its around $2.50 in the Philly area... though I'd love to know which "government plan" you're referring to. The conspiracy theorist in me swears its the "mid-term elections are coming; quick, lower the price of gas!" plan.

Gas prices are falling due to its normal, annual cycle. Every year the price of gas increases starting in April/May in anticipation of the summer travel months and it's higher demand, but will start to fall again after Labor Day. This is normal.

Oh, and by the way, gas in Central NY State averages around $2.75 for low-octane and $2.99 for high-octane. It was as high as $3.19/$3.39 in mid-August.

oh no. It can't possibly be as simple as normal market cycles. It must be a conspiracy by Bush's oil buddies to lower prices until the republicans steal another election with diebold's help by providing rigged voting machines. Then, after the democrats have another election stolen the prices will rise again.

It's all a big conspiracy.

The gas prices thing may be true sarcasm, but seriously everyone should be scared of Diebold voting machines. Latest report: You can open one with a hotel mini bar key.. Now that's confidence inspiring isn't it?

I did mean that to be on the sarcastic side... yes, it's a normal market cycle. I just couldn't resist when I saw the "government plan" line. Just want to nip that one before it turns into a misplaced "Political" thread.

The government's plan?? You mean the one involving getting re-elected in November?? It's total BS. Prices will go right back up once the elections are over.
