Usually my area is the highest in the country. Right now we are 3.21 per gallon for regular. I don't drive much so I don't get very caught up in it. I bet no one has a higher price than what we have !

Ouch. I thought it was bad that it's $2.48 around here...

Sadly, I live several hours closer to the refineries than you, but the local price is about the same at the major labels that are in collusion, around 3.20. I paid 3.01 at Safeway and/or Costco. It is much higher in SF and Oakland. There's one station I pass in Oakland that has been over 3 bucks for the last year and this week they are around 3.65. Can you say gouging? I knew you could...

The most irritating part is my local politicians are more concerned with SatRad potentially raising their rates on a few million people while the Oil companies rob us and make excuses for their record profits. Big oil pays them to shut up and the NAB pays to tell them what legit businesses they should target. Gov't by the lobbyists for the People...

I'm watching Die Hard on HBO ... they had a scene about 15 minutes ago where they were near a gas station and I clearly saw the price.

74¢ for regular
79¢ for premium

I'm seeing a lot of prices of around $2.57 for the lowest grade in the area.

Ok, gas has topped $3 for premium. What the hell is going on? This really sucks for us people who have to drive 80 miles to work.

I think you have been sniffing some of that premium fuel if you drive that much.

I HOPE that's round trip, and not one way.

Re: drive to work

80ish miles 1-way - I think it's 83 miles driveway to driveway. I don't do it every day though. My parents live a few blocks from where I work so I stay there a few nights and only do the drive twice a week. There are times when it really sucks like when the weather is bad (I live in the snow belt of NY) or my kids have something going on at school (baseball game, etc).

I leave home early Monday morning, go home Wednesday night, leave early Thursday morning and go home Friday night. So Monday, Tuesday and Thursday I'm staying at my parents house. It's not that bad though. Car gets decent gas milage, I really like my job, I see extended family more often and I've got Sirius! In fact, this is the primary reason I wanted satellite radio in the first place.
