Hey I used to take that 4 train up to the Bronx, and that was an hour trip - if I was lucky...

also it might time to start saving up for one of those hydrid cars.
Those hybrid cars don't really cut it. Might in a few years but for alot less I can get a kick ass mini that only does a little worse than the hybrids. I read a study recently that takes into account the cost, maintenance, environmental impact... batteries are very nasty, and gasoline prices. The outcome, the car would not be beneficial (unless you are stinking rich) until gase reaches around 5 bucks a gallon.

I live in the Philadelphia suburbs and gas is around $2.50 to $2.55 per gallon for the cheapest octane. It has gone up close to 20 cents per gallon in less than the last 2 weeks, it's getting insane!!

Tonight, word got around that gas was going up to 2.59 in St. Louis, so I ran out and filled up at 2.34, as did the rest of the entire damn city at that station.

Oh, and of course, I had to get behind at the schmuck at the pump that thought with a line encircling the gas station, it would be a great time to wash all 6 of his windows and teach his 10 year old how to pump gas.

It's good that you got a heads up. I wish word of increases would be leaked here in Western NC. I always tend to lose the gas price gamble (I've got a 1/4 of a tank, do I fill up now or wait and hope the price doesn't increase).

I'm just glad I don't have to use premium gas (that adds about 20 cents more to the price)...
Update: The same downtown station I mentioned above just raised their prices again today to $2.45/gal. That's 14 cents in less than a week!

It's now $2.45 around me. I don't have to fill up for a few more days, I'm kinda scared what it'll be by then...it just keeps going up and up.

It's scary as I drive by the same gas stations every day to and from work, and I never know how much it will go up while I'm at the office or overnight. One station went up 11 cents per gallon from last night to this morning and has gone up at least 30 cents a gallon in the past week or so... It's getting outta control.

But other than complaning about it, is anything actually being done about it?? I'm lucky that I live near a guy I work with, so for almost a year now we've carpooled where he drives one week, then I drive the next week, etc... It's certainly helped with having to get gas less often, but it's getting so expensive that one fill up today is almost equal to what I paid to fill up my car two times last year! When will it stop going up???

Is it me or does it seem like the gas prices go up almost .10 cents over nite?! The gas prices here in the Orlando, Florida area are about $2.50 a gallon for regular unleaded.
