OK, please tell me how this isn't considered price gouging. I have already heard to be prepared for higher prices at the pump as a result of the hurricane, but at least one station is being very impatient. From 6PM last night to 8AM this morning, they raised the price per gallon 17 cents! It is now $2.86 for the cheapest gas. The station right across the street is still at the lower price, so for now there are two stations that are almost 20 cents a gallon difference on opposite corners of the street. I'm sure the other station will catch up, but for now, it really looks bad for the higher priced station... They couldn't have experienced a price bump that fast in one night, they are probably using the same fuel that was in the tanks last night, but are getting greedy. It's an Exxon by the way...

Get your gas today everyone, by weeks end they are saying it will be another 15 to 20 cents higher per gallon!!! $3/gallon here we come!

Just saw on the news that gas in some places near Boston is $3.99 a gallon. I'm on my way out now. I'll see what the prices are here in my town.

I thought the $2.579 to $2.899 bump was bad overnight, look at the price at this BP in Georgia:

The highest reported during yesterday's panic was just over $6 per gallon. I just checked the gas search website (www.atlantagasprices.com) and the range is between $2.59 and $3.99 depending on station and what part of town. It's around $3 near my house.
I just can't believe how crazy everyone got down here yesterday after the rumors were flying that Georgia was going to be out of gas by the end of the day.

I just filled up at $2.88 for 87 octane (West Palm Beach, FL). Probably the last I'll see of that for a bit. The 93 octane was $3.09.

Many of the stations are out of the 87 so I was lucky to stumble upon it.
