An illustration from Kansas City:
Sunday 8/28: Gassed up at a Phillips 66 on the east side of town - $2.52/gal.
Wednesday 8/31: Gassed up again at a QuikTrip in North Kansas City - $2.90/gal.
Thursday 9/1: Drove by the same Phillips 66 I went to on Sunday - $3.06/gal. Even more depressing was the fact that at the time I drove by, an employee at the QuikTrip across the street was changing their price sign to $3.20/gal.
All of these prices are for regular unleaded (87 octane).

$0.68 increase in less than a week....makes you wanna .

Remember this time last year, when most of us thought $1.75/gal was outrageous? I don't know about you all, but I'd like to have that $1.75 price back right about now.

They owe me a $1.30!!

I'm glad gas is somewhat starting to drop. I paid $2.95 last night.

Check out www.mapgasprices.com

It uses Goggle Maps to let you view prices at nearby gas stations (and update prices to keep the database current).

Very cool link, I'll have to bookmark it.

Right now, the prices near me are about $2.67, down from $3.39 a couple weeks ago.

I just paid $2.84 today. I was happy that prices are heading down.

I cannot believe that I am happy to pay $2.84!?!

I was gas to be below $2.00 where it should be.

I couldn't find any gas today worth waiting for. Generators at the local major hardware store went from $700 yesterday to $2300 today. I'm sure this was just a pricing error.

2.85 for midgrade. Down from 3.30 a few weeks ago.

Still needs to come down a lot farther.

Since gas prices are on the rise again, thought brought back this thread.

Yesterday I paid $2.85 for the regular grade. Grand Total about $30 bucks!

On my local news, showing some parts of Phoenix has reached $3 bucks. They showed one gas station at $3.11.

Gas is $2.71 to $2.89 around here. This needs to get fixed somehow.

$2.79 to $2.99 here. It is totally aggravating considering the big CEOs continue to give themselves HUMONGOUS bonuses.

$2.70 to $2.90 here. It's sad that it cost about $15 to tank up a 5-gallon container that I use for my lawnmower, when it used to cost about $15 to tank up my car a few years ago.
