Default U people don't know how lucky u are

I love it how everyone complaints in the states about the gas prices. I mean, it's normal since ur used to it being cheaper but look at my beautiful country, per gallon I pay the equivalent of 5 US Dollars!!!! in my local currency.

I've had this same argument with people I know in the UK. It's not really the cost of the gas, it's how fast and how high it's risen. Like I said in a previous post, when I started working here about 4 years ago, gas was less than half of the cost it is now. When the cost of fuel rises so high and so quickly, it effects the price of everything due to increased costs to transport cargo, increased costs to store freight and increased costs to produce goods - especially food.

I totally agree with that. it has gone up really high unexpectedly fast and the worst part: when food and other products go up due to the oil problems, once the oil prices go down everything takes ages to go back down as well IF they go down.

Only going to get worse! The cost of a barrel of oil went up to $75 today. Time to buy some horses and a buggy.

yea...but i would like to also know if it is about 5 dollars equal to us money...how much everything else is.

for example...how much does the average wage of people over there. for example...the average wage in charlotte county florida is about $26,000 Gas is now $3.00 a gallon.

maybe its no different...but still when it was a buck about 5 years ago and now 3 times as much...people do complain why so fast? noone would complain if it was in the 2 dollar range...but it is expected to be at 3.70 this summer...and thats if there is no major disruption...ie hurricanes...

Now countries know how dependent we are on oil and threatening to blow up their own fields, so this isn't going to help us any. Its not so much us complaining what the price is per gallon as to how fast its rising. Also there is a threat of gasoline shortage as facilities are being switched over to ethanol. I wouldn't doubt we see $4/gallon by mid summer.

Its just crazy. Everything else will go up in price as well. My husband tonight asked me if it was true that milk cost over $4 gallon. I said Yeppers. Nothing like a chain reaction to break us even further.

$3.17-$3.20 for 93 Premium. The cheap junk is probably 20 cents cheaper. Don't pay attention to prices of regular.

I don't know if this has been posted on the previous pages or not, but someone sent it to me. Basically it tells where the cheapest gas prices are in your town. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the link, PHiSH!

I heard on the news this morning an investigation is planned to look into whether or not there is price gouging going on. Gee, who would suspect the oil company CEOs of THAT????
