Default NO TAX in Massachusetts Aug 13 & 14

Just an FYI to all New Englanders.

This weekend is the no tax weekend here in Mass.

However, there will still be tax on food, smokes, cars.

A single purchase item cannot be over $2500.

Time to stock up on whatever crap you don't need!!!

Enjoy,

MM

P.S. I'll probably end up buying something I don't need....I'll let you know.

Is that on everything except cars and the other few exceptions you listed? If so, not a bad deal.

Missouri had that a couple weeks ago, except it was only good on school supplies, clothes and computers. I worked at Target and it was hell. You can't imagine how many people rush in and fight long checkout lines and deal with wall-to-wall people to save $4 on their kids school supplies.

I'd rather pay the sales tax and not spend my entire day driving around the lot looking for a parking spot and waiting in checkout lines.

Yes, it's on everything except those I listed.

It will be a crazy weekend. People act as if they are getting products for free.

It would be nice to save $125 on a $2500 TV!!

If there are no taxes, how can you tell you're in Massachusetts?

In my state of New Hampshire it's a tax holiday every day. That is, unless you consider the property taxes (ouch!).

A whole week?!? I guess Connecticut has more $ in the bank than Mass.

What are you going to buy, Heather?

Dang, Tennessee sucks.

I'd have fun in Circuit City/CompUSA/Best Buy for sure that day.

I've worked at a Target store for 2 and a half years. I'm already tempted to do that to all the damn customers that stand in the way when I'm trying to push 10 carts through the store into the backroom to fill them up with crap to stock the shelves
