Default Bob Barker Leaving Price is Right

I love the scene in Happy Gilmore. "The Price is Wrong Bitch" and then Bob Barker kicks ass. I loved that.

But this is probably my favorite price is right video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra9rFfXFkK8

But anyways Sad to see him retire after 35 years.

VH1 did a Top 10 of Bob Barker.

You will be missed in nursing homes across the world.

The funny part is that this 83-year-old says he wants to retire while he's "still young". I used to watch it every morning with my Dad when I was young, and loved playing along.

I always loved the mountain climber game......

I remember once some was far so off on their guess, he climbed over and crashed on the first turn.

I don't know how anyone is going to replace him really, I can see the show crashing when he leaves.

But now who will advocate the spaying and neutering of our pets so we can control the animal population?!

Jay Thomas or Howard Stern naturally! After seeing comedians Howie Mandel and Bob Saget getting them, both of them have been saying how they'd like an easy paying gig such as a game show to host...in their spare time of course.

I always assumed that the show would end when he retired.

I've been watching that show since I was a kid. Sorry to see him go. I think they will try to put one or two new hosts in, but eventually the show will wither and die. That's Bob Barker's show. But they said the same thing about Johnny Carson and The Tonight Show...and they managed to do OK...

They could play reruns and no one would even know it. The only thing that would give it away is the date of the cars. I hope it keeps going after he's gone, it's the best part about being sick.

Have you seen the show lately?? He is becoming a very grumpy old man. He is impatient and is always threatening the contestants with physical harm. I say its about darn time he is leaving before he either breaks a hip or hurts someone lol.

Really Heather? I haven't seen it for about six months. He did seem to get more angry when they took too long to give him a price as he got older.

One reason why I think Bob's leaving the show is because of pressure from CBS and the people who own the show, German-based FremantleMedia. Watch the program and the sponsors are mainly old geezer products (Liberty Medical supplies, Depends, Colonial Penn and so on). Mainly, the networks want shows with a younger audience to get advertisers that will pay good dollars to have their products advertised. When Goodson was running the show, it seemed to be more geezer-friendly (models old enough to be my mother, aging sets and who could ever forget the fact that they didn't use electronic graphics until the late 90s). But, when it was sold to Fremantle after several mergers, the models were fired, the sets changed and all graphics sans the lighting fixture in the beginning of the show were done on computers. I think one change Barker didn't like was the onslaught of college kids who were sucky bidders and took too long to bid.

Howard mentioned on his show earlier this week that CBS might replace Barker with Dave Price, the weatherman on "The Early Show". Meanwhile, Fremantle did mention that they have been looking for Barker's replacement for over two years.

Yeah thats one thing that really gets on his nerves is when they take too long to make up their minds. Doesn't even have to be when they are giving a bid..once they are on stage, if they aren't quick enough with their decision he gets really impatient. Im sure..at least I hope, is that what he says to them is all in fun but how long will it be until he really does snap? lol He told one lady to hurry up or he'd hit her in the head with the microphone. He's a ticking time bomb lol.

I think Dave Price would be a good replacement. He is young and funny..and good looking in a dorky kinda way. He has a great attitude toward people so he'd get along with young and old alike.
