Post XM Morons?

6 times I tried to cancel my account ,I talked to them very clearly and they had major problems with this.Jesus! They put me on hold and hung up on me every time.Is that their form of customer retention?Once they just left me for 13 minutes on hold.Just like Dire-ctv (garbage!)their customer service blows goats and I wont be resubscribing unless they come out with 900 channels of dolby digital music .

Thank goodness for dishnetwork and Sirius sattelite radio for their wonderful services and decent customer service.well I never had trouble with them anyhow.

Granted that I don't go to XM boards much this is the first time I've seen them do something like this, as for Sirius you don't have to look hard to find a bad CS story.

Sorry to highjack your thread but I figure this is the best place to vent my frustrations as well. I got a call two nights ago at 11:30pm from a representative from Direct TV; a sales call. I politely explained that he woke me up and that it is 11:30pm and hung up; he said he'd call the next day. So, last night I get a phone call at 11:09pm from the SAME DAMN GUY! Granted he called me earlier than 11:30pm but what would posess a company to allow calls to be made after 9:00? Granted it was a call from India (or so it sounded like it anyway) and they probably didn't realize what time it was here. Needless to say I will NOT be going with Direct TV now. I was planning on using them but not after this experience.

We got telemarketing calls after 9:00pm twice this month from Sirius. It is annoying.

You didn't used to get calls after 7pm. I guess now that most calls are coming from overseas they can afford to make calls 12-14 hours a day.

By law if you get calls after 9pm and you're on the DNC List, you can submit the number and they'll get in trouble.

If you are on the DNC list then nobody can call you unless it is for politics, a phone survey, non-profit orgs, or if you have established a business relationship with them. I'm sure there are more categories but those are what I can remember offhand. The time doesn't matter at all, as far as I know anyway. I never heard that nobody can call you after 9pm if you are on the list.

You're right...

32. My number is on the National Do Not Call Registry. After I bought something from a company, a telemarketer representing that organization called me. Is this a violation?

No. By purchasing something from the company, you established a business relationship with the company. As a result, even if you put your number on the National Do Not Call Registry, that company may call you for up to 18 months after your last purchase or delivery from it, or your last payment to it, unless you ask the company not to call again. In that case, the company must honor your request not to call. If they subsequently call you again, they may be subject to a fine of up to $11,000.

An established business relationship with a company also will be created if you make an inquiry to the company, or submit an application to it. This kind of established business relationship exists for three months after the inquiry or application. During this time, the company can call you.

If you make a specific request to that company not to call you, however, then the company may not call you, even if you have an established business relationship with that company.
