Default Fox Broadcasting vs The Fcc

I know we have had some threads about this and I'm sorry if this is a repost, but they are in court right now and it looks like the FCC are losing their argument.

Quote:
When Miller explained that the FCC policy was crafted largely to protect young children from indecent language, Pooler asked why the FCC wasn't similarly concerned about violence. And when he said broadcast TV should be regulated differently than cable because it was more pervasive, and because some children had broadcast TVs in their bedrooms, Pooler argued that any parent who allowed an unmonitored TV in a child's room already was abdicating responsibility.

"You want to protect those children ... even when their parents are lax," she told him.

The government shouldnt be protecting children from TV!
If you are so scared your kids arent going to hear a swear word ,you better keep them in a plastic bubble or home from school WHERE KIDS LEARN CURSING!
All censoring does is make TV SUCK that much worse.
These protected kids WONT MAKE IT IN A REAL WORLD end of story.
These protected kids become fags, lesbians, criminals and other forms of defying NORMAL society later in their lives if they are too protected.
Anyways, its NOT the FCC's job to watch your kids.
If youre that paranoid ,dont give them a tv.
Example:
My child hood friends actually were curious as to what was on HBO after we figured out how to bypass the HBO child filter (a small lock switch) and saw the nudity anyway....Kids want to see ,they WILL see.
Also keep them away from friends,my friends showed me PLAYBOY mags at age 5.
I learned cursing at age 5 in grammar school, yes I was in catholic school for a short period of time,I left because the school was dirty and I got sick alot there. So guess what?Your kids will NEVER be safe so wake up and learn that.
The Vchip is just a code away from OFF and as crafty as kids are ,they figure it out,so dont bother....The government wont watch your kids for you.
You should be doing that.SPEND TIME WITH THEM!

We certainly don't need our government doing the job of lazy parents either.

Filtering of content is the job of the parent, not the government. There is no need to "protect the children".
