Default Celebs Get to be Cops?

The new reality show is Armed and Famous. Celebs were randomly picked to be trained as cops for Muncie Police Department.La Toya Jackson,Weeman,Erik Estrada,Jack Osbourne and Trish Stratus are in it…Don't some of these folks have drug and drinking problems?
I think substance abuse problems are what helps them land these plum roles. That makes the show unsafe for public safety right?

Worse because it's Yet Another Crap Reality Show (YACaRS™) that belittles a job which people put their lives on the line to protect others.

But how great would it be to actually get pulled over by the actual Ponch? Especially if he pulled up on a bike!

As someone who speaks from knowing what being a cop is really like-----

Those people, Jack Osborn, La Toya, et al should stick with what they know best, entertaining people. They may get some of the training, and get to do some of the "fun stuff" but lets see them be a first responder to a domestic violence call, or direct traffic in the rain at 4 am at an accident scene.

Just another POS reality show. Some people may find it entertaining, but from "being there and done that" I won't find it too interesting.

just my .02

I understand what you're pointing out Phatjohn. But hell, this are the kind of shows that viewers are interested in.I might actually watch a bit of this to see just how stupid and funny it might be. I would have loved to tazer some of them folks, not to mention others. I like Eric though, I grew up on Chips.
Besides taking a look at the pics...I think its not that easy to do the show. This celebs are in for a rough ride.

Just another opportunity for these washed up losers to get a few more last seconds in front of the camera. After this, it's the big TV studio in the sky for these guys. Or, in Erik Estrada's case, Hot Springs Village in lovely Arkansas!!!

Officer Shaq says this show is degrading to all the real-life millionaire celebrity cop wannabes busting pedophiles two and three times a year:

I'm assuming that's meant to be taken as a put down, but I have some relatives living in that area and it's actually a pretty nice place.

I saw the first two episodes. Not bad.A moderately loud voice in me was saying that I shouldn't be enjoying it. After all, Lord only knows how Muncie's city attorney and insurance company signed off on this.

One thing that comes to my mind is that the celebs only received three weeks of training. I thought that courses at police academies were closer to six months? It's probably because they're "reserve" police officers that it was so much shorter.

One could only imagine what would happen if one of the celebs wrongfully shot an unarmed person or did an unconstitutional search and the city got sued for a lot of $$. They were undoubtedly watched very closely.

I also watched the 1st 2 ep's.. I don't know if I will watch it anymore.. La Toya Jackson makes me wanna jump into my tv and kick her ass..

I will say tho.. 1st ep.. Erik E. (ponch) is restraining a guy on the floor or being restrained (I forget) but he lets out a fart .. and it was the funniest thing ever.. my son made me rewind it 3 times.

I watched the first episode purely for Trish Stratus (definitely wouldn't mind getting pulled over by her ). The second episode is saved on Tivo...haven't figured out if I want to watch it or not.

Episode 2 was great once you passed La Toya's irritating fear of cats.I mean she has no fear of snakes, and I recall her posing naked with a seven-foot monster, which they couldn't pay me enough money to do.Thats why I find her really odd.I guess it runs in the family.LOL.

Overall the show is pretty much hilarious and in general the Muncie cops are coming out looking very good on this show.
