Default windows XP question

I just bought an external hard drive for my laptop to put all my music on. My problem is I play my music from my laptop through my tivo alot, but the tivo looks in the "my music" section. Since I put all the music on the External E drive, it doesn't show up in the my music area, guess cause its only looking at the C drive. My question is does anyone know if I can tell the my music section to look in the E drive or is it simply set to look in the C drive only?

Not sure about the Tivo angle, but would putting a shortcut to the E: drive in the My Music folder work?

I'd suggest you ask this over at the TiVo Community forum:

If you want to change the location of the My Music folder, do the following:

1. Click Start -> Run, and type in "regedit" (no quotes) and press enter on the keyboard.

2. RegEdit will appear. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Shell Folders.

3. Right click on the folders you want to change and select Modify.

4. Change the path of your folder to the new path (example: d:\my music).

5. Reboot your computer.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! Editing your registry can be dangerous, be very careful that you follow the instructions above as written.
