Well it's down more than another 9% to 77 cents today, even as the rest of the market recovered a little the day after the Lehman trouble.

So let's see, if it continues the trend of -10% every day, it should be down to 26 cents by the end of this month, and would be worth about a nickel by the end of October.

Woo hoo!

Trap & Kryptonite have it right here guys. The stock is not simply a reflection of management or the companies and more a part of the bigger economic issues our country is facing. If you bought Sirius stock, even when it was over $4.00 a share, you should have planned to hold it as a long term investment. Since it plummeted under $1.00 I have quadrupled the amount I had purchased at $3.45.

This company has truly amazing long-term potential. Do not lose faith. Sirius XM will grow and reach out in other markets. I would bet that in 5 years the stock will be valued at around $10-$12 a share. Maybe longer but it will happen.

And if you think I'm nuts then you do not understand econimcs or this company and should have never invested in the first place. Start-ups like this, especially in entirely new industries, take a long time to grow and face hurdles such as the debt we are dealing with now.

I feel the number one problem is the lack of invester confidence and the continuation of dumping the stock in order to "save the bank". Impules investors and the exploitave big-dogs are definately a part of the issue we have observed since the merger. It's up to us truly commited stock holders to back this company and pick up these dirt cheap shares. The returns will be worth it.

Google has "SIRI" listed as:

0.64 +0.07

It was down in the .5x range? Gheez. But I still feel confident that it'll rebound with the advent of the new ala carte radios. People will subscribe over time that previously didn't want to pay for Howard Stern, O&A, or anything similar.

I mean, if all you want is sports PbP because you get your music from elsewhere, why pay for additional music channels that you aren't going to listen to? That's probably what a lot of people are thinking.

Likewise, if you detest the NBA, why should you be "forced" to pay for their content?

I really don't think "paying for something they don't like" is what's stopping most people, it's just paying for something, period.

I think that once some of the savings from the merger are realized and they hopefully start a good unified marketing strategy, that things will rebound. I bet there's a decent jump in the next quarter as the numbers start to turn around.

In this economy, yeah. Paying for anything unnecessary isn't happening as much as it used to.

Let the economy improve and then the ala carte radios really take off.

Price wasn't the main factor for me. It just didn't seem like "premium" radio. If a service would've played entire CD's without commercials like HBO does with movies or something innovative (and if mp3's and downloading didn't exist), I might be more interested.

You can get the entire Sirius or XM lineup for about $5-6/month if you call and threaten to cancel. That's been well documented on this board. Why pay $5-6/month for only some of the channels??

That's an interesting idea. Perhaps a few channels on SIRIUS (one for rock, one for rap, one for oldies, one for random) that plays entire albums straight through.

Ever since the merger went thru my interest (and a lot of other peoples) has dropped in this company. The stock has gone down the toilet as has everything else. Do I think the stock should be over a buck here? Hell yea. There are a ton of stocks right now that have so much value in my eyes. Prices that I haven't seen since I started playing stocks in '02...

Now the last time Sirius was trading under a buck was September '02. It basically stayed under a buck until May '03. Going to the $1 range briefly in Jan '03 on an analyst upgrade... So we've been here before, we can get out of this again. People who bought in the penny range were rewarded nicely 2 years later when this sucker went to $9. Lots of risk lots of reward.

I'm more worried on what will happen with the HD radio mandate. If that goes through, things will get real tough for satrad. In the meantime I'm staying long on this pos. Selling on emotion is the worst thing you can do, just look at the Dow... Really oversold, great opportunity for investors -there will be a pop and it will be huge.

Maybe i'm being naive, but I still don't see how the merger is a bad idea. If anything, we're now starting to have a few more options. If someone doesn't want to pay for Howard, now they don't have to. If all they want is music, they now have that option.

If you want NFL, NBA, NHL, (and in some cases, MLB) on the same radio, you now have that option.

Ok, so there's no competition between XM and Sirius, but there still is plenty of competition between satellite radio and several free options. They won't raise prices "just because", because they're still competing with free.

I still have faith that once things become more streamlined, and redundant staff are removed from the combined business, things will get better.

Plus, with the whole economy in the toilet now, people aren't going to go out and buy a $300 radio and pay a monthly fee to listen.

Satellite radio is a great idea -- Uncensored content, much of it without commercials. The same radio programming all throughout the country, etc. -- the timing is just horrible.

I don't believe anyone SAID it was a bad idea, (other than various people, both on and off this forum who were against it) but from reading this thread, i'm sensing a lot of doom and gloom.

Take a few "hiccups" that any new company would have, add in a few "hiccups" that any new technology/industry/media would have, and you have Sirius XM.
