Cool are you buying sirius at 40 cents?

the last time sirius traded at these levels, risky investors were rewarded nicely. i bought almost 3000 shares at 37 and 46 cents. i have also bought a lot of GE and INTC lately, to be on the safe side.

so are you buying, selling or just sitting on the side lines?

Default .40

.40?

Its down to .32 today.

You guys are losing already.

I got out long ago and wouldnt touch it. Markets went down by 500 pts today.

Buffett never touched this stock and never will.

I made some money and got out at the right time.

I just heard on Sirius Bloomberg that the markets could take a jump next week after the election once the investors know who the Prez is. Not knowing has caused fears in the recent down turns.

A broker told me its not a good time to buy anything.

Im waiting to see what next week's bounce is gonna be, if any, because I think it will go back down and I just may sell everything. Ive lost money like everyone and at least I'll have what I got.

This is keeping me up at night.

I have a big hunk in CIBCX. Got in at $44. It went up to $68 before the crash and has plummeted to $38. OUCH! Of course, my broker says to be patient and I have but I want to keep what I have. Its for retirement in 10 years.

If I see it going back up in the future I can get back in before $44 and buy more shares.

My broker said there's a low risk probability of a depression case scenario.

No matter who gets in, this buyout is just a band aid that's coming off and Im getting the hell out of the markets and keeping what I have before Jan.

Cool

I think it's a great time to buy everything. I mean there are so many high yielding stocks out there with low prices that we haven't seen in many years. I've been throwing money in the market left and right lately. I've bought GE, INTC, STX, SIRI, AMD, DSX to name a few. I really wish I had more cash to buy more.

Buffett's buying, lots of fear, prices I haven't seen in years -yea I think it's time to buy.

The sirius chart looks like shlt, a share is the same price as a bag of chips. As I've said before when this happened previously, risky investors were rewarded nicely in a few years. I did buy 2k shares today. I'm already in the hole real big on this one, so throwing a few more bucks in it to drop my cost average isn't a big deal. Plus I think the risk vs reward may be worth it. And I did the samething the last recession (when I first started investing) -bought AMD at $4 bucks, a company that could have went bankrupt... Sold it a few years later for $18. I'm hoping I have the same results this time around. =)

Speaking of Buffett, he just lost $4B in insurance companies he held due to hurricane Ike and several other reasons. First time he lost that much in over a decade.

Some think we're heading into another depression. GM is now asking for a buyout of something like $50B after losing over 30% last qtr, so is Ford. Give to one industry you have to give to all of them.

Circuit City just closed. 14 banks have closed, including a lot of big ones, 9 were FDIC so that didnt help much and get this - China just gave $500B buyout to its banks - something to do with real estate and bad loans. When America catches a cold, the rest of the world gets pneumonia.

The post office is gonna lay off 40,000 workers for the first time in history. They lost $2B.

Friends of mine are getting laid off all over the place. This is what happened just prior to the last great depression.

And For those who bought Siri at .40, its down now to .27.

But for those of us who still want live programming and won't go back to terrestrial radio, remember what Mel told Stern (when discussing his renewing his contract in 2 more years):

`We're a monopoly now. Where you going to go??' (followed by a laugh, of course)

Default .40

StingRay is right. Where's he going?

Same place I just went - iPODs.

I just cancelled Siri after having since the beginning. With over 5,000 songs in my PC and 2,000 in my iPOD, I just bought an iPOD stereo and plug it in.

Ray is right about the programming. Thats why I cancelled. Same damn music all the time and I was wasting money on streams I never listened to like Martha Stewart.

A DJ reminded me that I should listen to her since I was paying for it anyway. That did it for me.

When Siri asked why - I said iPOD which is kicking Siri's butt.

As for economy - just about every manufacturer in the country is in DC asking for a handout like GM and FORD - and getting it. Maybe Mel should ask for one too with all that debt.

So long free enterprise system. Welcome Socialistic Europe.

The people who voted for this deserve it.

Meanwhile, for those that bought Siri at .40 - Its now at .20.

Yup, StingRay was right.

Many of us (likely millions - possibly MANY millions) have Sirius primarily for Stern. Ipod's can't help there.

Whenever I want to listen to Howard Stern (I haven't listened in months now - I've been listening to Adam Carrolla in the morning or I still sometimes catch the old Sirius Stars morning show Steve & DC which is now just DC), I download his show to my iPod. It is posted in all of the usual places one hour after it airs. So the 6am hour will be avaiable at 7am, etc.

There are places to hear it online totally live too but you do have to have an iPhone or iPod Touch with WiFi for that. I don't - just a 30GB iPod. No big deal to me, I can skip past nonsense, timeshift, and save $150/year.

If I want to hear the music channels (not often for that either), I can listen to DirecTv.
