Yeah that is not not bad. I wish that they would have gotten to 2 million, but without a portable like MyFi and without a compelling event like MLB I guess that is a good number.

They really need to put the whip to the horse and get product on the shelves and get a BIG Promotion ready to get the Stern Subscribers. They need to be at 3 million at least by the end of the 4th quarter.

No worry, Sirius will have 3.2 million at the end of the year.

I was hoping for more subs, but as far as the other numbers, it's looking good!

Here's some highlights on the Conference Call:

-Press briefing on new products in late August. (Replay feature to be in ALL radios).
-Sirius has highest CSI in satellite radio.
-Free cash flow by 2007 perhaps 4Q 06.
-BBC Radio 1 and Radio Korea in August.
-Martha Stewart in 4Q.
-Starmate to have $30 rebate during the "Any Game, Anywhere" sweepstakes.
-1.4% Churn per month.
-No date on portable receivers.
-"THERE WILL BE NO ONE IN THE USA WHO DOES NOT KNOW STERN IS ON SIRIUS." -Mel
-Trying to figure out what to do with Sirius 4, and looking at buying #5.

With over 100K sub adds per month, they should be very close to the 2 million mark by now. When they hit that number, I am sure there will be a press release. I am interested in that 4th satellite, with the hopes of improving indoor reception and adding "officially" Hawaii & Alaska. Whoever adds the last two states scores a PR win, thus becoming the first sat service to truly serve the entire nation, not just the 48 contiguous states. Overall most of the news was positive, growth is good so far, but the real jump will be in 4th Qtr.

I don't think a sat for Alaska and Hawaii is worth it.
All that money for how many possible subs?

Better coverage in the 48 has to be a bigger priority and a better business move.

Im not saying a 4th sat just for Alaska and Hawaii, but perhaps making the signal more stationary for all indoor receivers all over the USA, and the by- product of its placement would be a reliable signal for Hawaii and Alaska too. With just 2 million residents, it wouldnt be economically feasible to have a sat just for those 2 states, but the real "Up" factor could be a dependable signal for all of North America from one location. Hawaii and Alaska receive DishTV and DirecTV signal. We know there is a concern at Sirius for better in home reception, and with even talk of a 5th satellite this could be good.

Isn't the 5th one for their TV venture with Microsoft?

No, they've said before that they already have bandwidth set aside for video.

These numbers are about what I expected. The fact that they are raising guidance to 3M is a good sign that they expect very good 3rd and 4th quarters. They need about 1.2M between the two quarters. I would guess you could divide that up as 350k for 3rd and 850k for 4th. Very doable numbers.

I hope the August announcements of all of the products are products that they can actually deliver at the same time, or it will freeze buying decisions for too long and jeapardize the numbers.

I was hoping to see over the 2 million mark, but read as of June 30, 2005, SIRIUS had 1,814,626 subscribers. That still not bad, but they probably have 1.9 Million by now because of July?

I try to look at trends, and all I know is that when I first subscribed to Sirius, they had 14% of the market and XM had 86%. In 18 months, Sirius has more than doubled that, and they just posted their second biggest quarter ever.

When I first got Sirius in May 2002, Sirius had 3% market share...now its 29%.
