Default SIRI's 4th quarter will be amazing.

We just passed the only roadblock I was afraid of. I think we're gonna hit some new highs this holiday season, as there will be nothin but good news for sat stocks (cross yer fingers). 3rq quarter #s were takin very very well by investers. 4th will result/spec will be a hell of a lot greater. Stocks tradin at 6.90 right now. Get in and enjoy the ride.

I agree.

It's time to "stock up" on Sirius shares.

I sure hope Sirius learned from last Christmas and they have plenty of radios on the shelves.

I think it's safe to say that they have.

The Starmate Replay is already shipping, and should be available through major retail and online stores shortly.

I'm confident the S50 will be available on schedule, i.e. this month.

And who knows, one of Sirius's hardware partners might surprise us with a new receiver before Christmas.

I dont care what anyone says, this is make or break for Sirius. They MUST have MORE than enough product on the shelves this season. I hope they have learned from the past...

That is a fact! Last year right in the middle of the selling season many stores didn't have anything except the Xact tuners and for many those were just not appealing. I know several people that went with XM for this very reason. They can't afford another screw up like that this year.

I do think intitally the S50 will be in short supply, but by November they will be readily available. Then again the S50 is going to be a premium item. Its going to be the PNP tuners that sell the best. I specifically think the Starmate Replay is going to be a very good seller. My experience with it indicates that the 3.0g chipset works very well as I have not found a single issue. There will be some current subscribers that will want to upgrade to a newer 3.0g tuner as well to get the artist seek, smaller size, cooler running tuners that require less power to operate.

I still think the 12 volt vs 6 volt makes a big difference in heat on these tuners. Not sure at 12 volts Sirius tuners will ever run as cool as XM tuners. But don't let the fact that they run warmer steer you away.

Nobody's disagreeing with you.

As I mentioned, the Starmate Replay is already shipping, and will be available through major retailers soon. I predict it will be VERY popular this Christmas shopping season.

As mentioned in another thread, Best Buy and Circuit City both have major new Sirius-exclusive displays, featuring the Sportster Replay, Starmate, Executive Docking Station, Sportster Boombox etc. The display features John Madden promoting Sirius and the NFL. The Starmate Replay and S50 will soon be on display also.

It appears that the S50 will ship on schedule, within the next couple weeks.

This Christmas will be MUCH better for Sirius.

My biggest concern isn't that they will have enough tuners, it's that they will have enough of the most popular tuner whatever that turns out to be. They have so many brands and models, it's hard to predict what people will scramble for. Since if I wanted a Kenwood, I might now want to switch to a JVC if those aren't available.

I think the tuners that are most important this quarter will be the Starmate Replay, the Xact Visor and the Sportster Replay.

Does anyone remember the difference in SAC between the 2.5G and 3.0G tuners?

DAB, I somewhat will disagree with you here. Remember the XTR1 is 6 volt, and it did absolutely nothing for heat.

Sure it did. It would have been hotter if they used 12v

I think the S50 will do better than many expect. Even a lot of hardcore Sirius fans were skeptical about it at first, but I think people are warming up to it. Fifty hours of recording time, MP3/WMA capability etc. are very appealing to a lot of people.

And I predict the online prices will be noticeably cheaper than the 360.00 MSRP. You should be able to pick it up online for about 25 to 30% cheaper than the MSRP. Which makes it reasonably priced IMO, considering its capabilities and optional equipment available.

It's not going to be a runaway bestseller, but I predict sales will be quite respectable. According to the sources I've seen, some retailers are very pleased with the number of people who have already reserved one.

I understand most of the obstacles of a walkman type device but I think Sirius will be hurt by not having one for this holiday season. The S50 looks nice but that is a lot of money for something I can’t listen to live content unless I’m docked.

I wish it would recieve live, even though most say that the connection is horrible and that 30% of portables get returned anyway. Either way, it's a huge step for their products, pact w/ features, nice lookin unit, with 50 hours playback. The car kit is cool and the executive dock looks amazing to me. Really sleek lookin product, will def sell dispite its high price.

I agree it will sell fairly well. I'd guess that you will probably be able to pick up the receiver AND home dock online for about 360 bucks, which is the MSRP for the receiver alone.

If "no live music on the go" portables like the S50 weren't going to sell, you wouldn't see XM releasing a similar unit. XM's Samsung NeXus will also not have "live music on the go" capability.

If the NeXus debuts at a noticeably lower price, Sirius can simply reduce the price on the S50.
