The gentlemen discusses the costs of acquiring new subscribers, which having such high numbers shows that Sirius doesnt make a lot of money in its first year. But what he doesnt take into account is the length of how long the subscriber remains a subscriber.
If they subscribe for a second year at $155 a year, they get $155 without having to pay the $149 to acquire them again. Having more and more subscribers that subscribe for a long time is how Sirius (and XM for that matter) are going to make money. Even at the very least if someone signs up for a lifetime subscription, they have more people listening to their streams that have ads and can get more money from advertisers (not to mention they make money immidiately that year from the subscriber).

Please grow up, little boy.

Let our disagreements in one thread stay in that thread. Your childish tactic of following me around from thread to thread attacking me, is pathetic. And quite rude to the other people who aren't interested in your personal vendetta against me.

I have sharp disagreements with people now and then, but I'm always a big enough man to let it go. I don't follow people from thread to thread attacking them.

If you have nothing to say regarding the topic of this thread, then run along.

Just reading through your many critiques and you seem like the little old lady down the street, the noisy type who has to butt into everyone's business with her one way comments. Her way is the only way. NO MATTER WHAT !
And it just get's tiring after a while.
Please take a deep breath after reading peoples posts, and don't feel that need to jump down everyone's back. It gets annoying after a while.

You need to get a life !!! REALLY NOW !!! Ba Ba Booie !

Sheesh. You're one to talk. You're the whiney little boy who's chased me into several different threads tonight.

Just give it a rest, and be sure to follow your own advice, since all of your criticisms of me definitely apply to yourself.

I've got enough of a life that I don't carry disagreements over into other threads, unlike you.

I'm entitled to my opinion, and have the right to express it. I'm sorry you have such a problem with my right to free speech. I've never said my opinions are infallible and the "end all", so get over it.

I'm right some times and I'm wrong some times. And unlike you, I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. But in this case, I'm definitely not wrong.

You should be sorry. This could've been avoided if you hadn't felt the childish need to chase me from thread to thread attacking me. Your phony apology is a day late and a dollar short.

From now on, if we have a disagreement, you be sure to keep all your negative comments in the same thread. Don't chase me from forum to forum attacking me. It's quite rude to other posters who aren't interested in your personal vendetta.

We've had to put up with all of your BS tonight, just because you don't like the fact that I don't think Folktown was "God's Own Channel".

That is exactly my point, reading the public information there is no way I would go with a Sattellite radio service. It appears Sirius is almost 1 billion in debt.

I wouldn't buy a washing machine from Maytag if they were 1 billion in debt.

All that being said I decided to go with the cheapest receiver and a one year subscription.

thanks for the info.

I thought member bashing was against the rules? Why has a moderator not stepped in here? Or at least split this thread to keep it on topic?

I just got back to this thread, and you are correct the member bashing is off topic and against forum rules.

Those that are participating should stop now or face the consequences!

Ok Jack Hass, this will be my two cents and I'm done with this cause it's kinda silly. I am a Sirius subscriber and shareholder, so obviously I don't think there's that much risk of bankruptcy. BUT, even if that were to happen at some point in the future, someone would take over the operations. I doubt the service would just stop. When MCI Worldcom went bust, the whole telecom world didn't go into chaos with no internet or phone connections. So, I really think you're worrying a bit too much.
If you want satellite radio I would get it and not worry about the company's finances.
