no not at all. it just means that I think the stock will probably be floating at around the four dollar mark for awhile. I really dont see any signs of it going higher or lower (drastically) in the next few years.

I think if SIRIUS doesn't meet its year end goals in terms of subscriber numbers, we just may see it tank in the first quarter to next year. I am just hoping they make the goals because if they do, I think we'll see a move up, but only slightly.

Do you think an XM/Sirius merge is a practical possibility?

Oh God. The sign of true intelligence.

Has nothing to do with PARTY it has to do with identifying who Satellite radio has for competition.

Wrong again. The FCC are trying not to create a monopoly.

Take it to the bank. Mel is a bulldog who's entire career is based on mergers and the value it creates. Screw regs and politics. Money talks in the House and Senate.

I have no idea why you think (any) results would move the pps next year when the positive results of the last 13 months haven't.

Satrad was out of vogue as all sectors become. When it warms up ( 2007 ) one will lead the other.

If XM hit 30 and Sirius did < shit, Siri would be 25-35% of XM's price.

XM Falls Behind Sirius in Canadian Satellite Radio Business
7:50 am on November 26, 2006 | Category: Business, Wireless Technology

A year after satellite radio was switched on in Canada, the country’s two leading satellite radio providers, XM and Sirius, continue to battle for customers, and so far, Sirius is well ahead.

The company, which still trails XM in the U.S. market, announced last week that it has built a user base of 200,000 paying subscribers on this side of the border. Compare that to a customer base of just 90,000 commanded by XM Canada.

Back in March, the two providers were still running neck and neck with 50,000 users each, but Sirius has managed to tip the scales significantly since that time, and is now outselling the competition at a rate of about 3 to 1, according to NPD Research and Digital Home.

XM Radio Canada will need to increase its monthly sales by an average of 150% to 200% if it hopes to attain its goal of having one million paying subscribers by the summer of 2010. This is looking like a more and more difficult proposition, especially now that the company has boosted its rates by 20%, and still provides less content than Sirius.

---------

Here's the sort of thing I was talking about DAB. Sirius makes and raises it's numbers. Brings Howard on board, Meets deadlines for Internet Streaming, kicks XM's ass in Canada, outsubscribes XMSR three to two for the entire year, and the stock loses 45-50% of it's value from 1/1/2006 to today.

I credit Siri's stock decline ( as does most of the investment world ) on those dumb clucks at XM who can't pour piss out of a boot on most days. Panero that is.

When the investing community finally " get it " Siri's shares will be on fire !

Welcome MUN.

Appreciate if any of us knew the answer to this, we wouldn't be life-less piss ants blogging about some here-to-fore disapointment like satrad from an investment standpoint. I.E. The only people who have made money are the employees so far.

NEVER invest in one slug. Take whatever you were going to invest and do it over 4-6 months.

Lucky for you, Q1 is usually soft as is the summer. With that said, one never knows.

As someone who "gets it" Im shocked that almost nobody seems to be focused on the actual cost of getting these subscribers. Im sure that those in the investing community that you reference already know the truth behind the cost of getting subs, hence why you probably wont see the stock "on fire" Unfortunately since the Canadian arm of Sirius is a private company, they dont disclose financials, so we may never know what the true cost is.
