Default Best Buy observation

Was into Best Buy twice over the last two days. In each case the parking lot was overflowing.

In both cases, both over 45 minutes per trip ( Big $$ Plasma Purchase ) not a soul was anywhere near the Satrad Display.

Sales agent there told me sales had " fallen off " .

Merry Christmas Everyone !

Shit I said.

Making matters worse was my trip to my Mazda Dealership. New units on the floor were " Sirius Satellite Compatible " WETF that means. I assume no unit, but prewired.

No THAT will add subscribers.

Double Shit.

What is the average consumer going to be least excite about this holiday season.

a. ipod

b. $500.00 - $800.00 lcd hdtv

c. ps3, wii and xbox360

d. satellite radio

bottom line is satellite radio is and probably always will be a niche electronic product and market.

Survey of one store in one location. Statistically, results are not indicative of much beyond that one store. Let me know the result when you do a few hundred more.

You don't need a survey. The fact that Sirius is cutting estimates they just recently affirmed is proof enough that the market is not what people thought it was. Especially since this is the big buying time of the year.

I agree. But based on all the bashing Whiskerbiscuit is doing, he's relying on a one-store survey to continue his rant on SIRI. I guess he's desparate. So, how deep is Whiskerbiscuit into SIRI stock (long)?

I went Plasma this year and I know that I am not alone.

They need some reason to get people interested again. I hope that Sirius is working with Sprint on a Sirius MP3 Player series of phones.

I don't think they will ever get a deal with Apple and that is what they really need.

I don't know about Sirius as a gift..

Giving someone a radio is nice, but if they want to USE it, they are committed to paying 12.95 a month (142.45 per year).. It may not be someone's concept of an 'ideal' gift.

I don't think lackluster Christmas sales are that much of an indicator.

Well, here in NY(LI) these are my observations--
Best buy, CC and RS have plenty of inventory--
They made piles of boomboxes on the floor and it doesnt look like a major dent in them(could have been restocked though)
Salesman said they were selling more Sirius but overall sales way down from last year
RS said portable best seller for him but overall off
Online such as Crutchfield, it shows Sirius receivers to be best sellers with cheapest ones best and portable up there
I saw online one group shows number of units in stock--They had about 157 Stilettos in stock, down to 120 on friday--now shows about 20 which indicates yesterday(saturday) was a big day for sales--is this a trend?
Maybe the big ticket items went first and sat sales are now just beginning to come up?? Lets see whatBridge says next week

It's desperate.

Now that's off my chest and the spelling Demon has been cast out, let's get back to your bullshitting incoherence.

My opinion that there is a precipitous decline in this holiday season is not only based on personal observations but are supported by three key Analysts who have five star ratings AND Bridge who surveys I think at 40 stores nationally. Bridge and Wall Street see 25-30% declines, I think it may be up to 35-40% over last year.

Although I can't for the life of me find the report, one study had satrad rated 48 out of 50 in electronic gift desirability order.

Not good numb-nuts.

Merry Christmas !

Yep, just as I thought. Long on many shares of the stock, figuring SIRI would go to the moon. Sorry for your loss...not. It's Whiskerbiscuit who's desparate.

Don't know how Sat Radios Christmas sales are going, but here in Boston, Sirius has been really making a push to sell units. They have had full page color ads in the Boston Globe like every other day for the last two weeks.
