I like it, but then again I minored in French in college and had to (wanted to) semi re-learn it again when I spent time on business in Quebec this past spring. I am definitely not fluent like I was 15 years ago but I can get by. I didn't get a lot of what was being said, but got the gist of it. They did an interview and feature with French band A.S Dragon that was interesting.

I also thought it interesting that the music is not all french language, although it is advertised as being all francophone. I assume the english language music is by Quebecois artists.

Probably because it one of the Canadian channels? But anyway, I listened to a few minutes of this station yesterday and couldn't understand one damn word they were saying!

I understand some Cajun French. I was hoping it would help me understand some of the stuff being said on this channel ... but, it's not

Cajun French is barely French (of course, Parisians would say the same thing about Quebecois, or, for that matter, French spoken in Marseilles).

I realize that. But, there are also similarities between the languages, and I just thought that it might help me more than it has.

As for the music, other than a couple of songs that sounded really good to me, it's just not my kind of music.

I like this channel more then I thought too. It's not bad. Some of the music is really cool. Some sound the same at other songs. The first song I heard when I switched it on was Vulva Underground/Lick Me...LOL And that was an English song.

I'm not going to preset this channel. Unless I don't fill up my Band B at the end of the Walk The Dog Schedule...

The good thing about this channel is the wide variety of styles. There's pop, rock, and techno. But the bad thing is the quality of songs just isn't that good, in my opinion. When you limit your pool of artists to only those who speak French (or English speaking but from Quebec), you aren't going to get the same level of quality as the general purpose pop, rock, or techno channels. I'd like to think that if a really good French language pop, rock, or techno song came out, it would get played on HitsOne, Left of Center, or Chill. But you won't hear any good non-French/Quebec songs on this channel. I think it's a weak channel, and it won't get a preset. But I guess it's needed for the Canadian audience. Do people from Quebec really prefer this music over better English language music?

ques-que c'est?! j'ai deteste pour les musiques francaise.

yes, my french is... not very strong. maybe i should have taken "study hall" instead of those 3 years of french. ah well.

like a few others have commented, i'm really surprised to find that i actually like this channel. of the three WTD's this week, i've listened to this one the most. it's cool that i can enjoy the music without knowing what they're talking about. i've been able to pick up a few words here and there -- sort of like a game.

after listening, i really wanted to call my french teacher from high school and tell him to get sirius. this would have been a great resource, back when we had to walk 15 miles in the snow barefoot up-hill to get to class.

(not really, it was mid-late 90s)

I was going to poke fun at your choice of tense (past perfect, IIRC,), but you did pick (IMO, though I don't actually remember much of l'imparfait... ) the right tense in context...

7 years since I took a French class in high school...

I didn't really like this station. I don't mind listening to music in a foreign language. But, if I am going to listen to rock music, why not listen to it in English?

I didn't like this at all, but then again I don't like french music.

I gave this channel an honest effort a couple of nights last week and a good bit over the weekend. I just couldn't get into it. For some stretches, it went through some "ok" periods of songs/music for me, but then in others, I listened to what seemed like LONG periods of techno/electronica that I just didn't like. Great for those that enjoy this, but I won't be back anytime soon.
