Default WTD 2006 Week 2 - 93 Bande √* part

What you'll hear
Bande √* part is the leading satellite radio service devoted to emerging French-speaking artists and music genres. Working out of brand new studio facilities at Maison de Radio-Canada in Montr√©al, a team of radio hosts constantly seeks to push the musical envelope when it comes to French-speaking pop culture. Bande √* part‚Äôs programming ranges from pop to rock, exploratory and electronic music (of which Montr√©al is fast becoming a hotbed).

This has been an occasional listen for me. They play a lot of downtempto electronica, which is pretty cool.

Don't understand a word they're saying (it's been a while since I took French in high school), though

Well the choice for me is listening to music on Bande a part that I seem to like but not understand a word of the French or
not understanding a note of the wield music on Shade 45 and not following the English either.

I do drink French wine and now I listen to Bande a part.

I'm having a hard time listening to this channel because it's not on Dish Network and doesn't stream online. That leaves the car as the only place I can listen, and my drives are too quick.

But I'm from Montreal, and I can speak French, and Bande A Part is programmed by the guys that program my FM channels (that I never listened to for free!), so I think i deserve an exemption from this one! The "international" appeal is kind of lost when you live within the scene!!

I'm listening right now... the techno is pretty good (since it seems that half of it is instrumental anyway, this is almost another techno station).

Most annoying thing is shared with the other Sirius channels programmed from foreign nations: the PDT is b0rked. For Bande a Part, this takes the form of what's playing now: "Shannon, Mike - [swap10]". Whoever's programming this channel didn't get a style memo from New York (maybe they neglected to translate it?) that says that PDT should read in this case "Mike Shannon - [swap10]".
