I've listened to this a few times. If you're really into this genre of music it's for you. When I've listened it's been very obscure music to me. I have a pretty well rounded and in depth musical background and recognized nothing I've heard on here. It does play some cool stuff if you're tired of the repetitiveness that a lot of the Classic ROck FM stations are.

Listened to it for a while, some good deep album cuts. But I doubt I would listen to this station again.

If I actually had my presets set, this would be one of them. I'm actually a progressive rock fan, so I wish they'd expand the channel in that direction a bit more. When I listen online, I usually get my progressive fix from XM Music Lab though; I'm still a bit peeved it went "online only." Otherwise, I agree that sometimes it goes a bit too obscure, though nowhere near a obscure as some of the stuff on XM's Deep tracks. Again though, one of the great things about SatRad is that you actually have a chance to hear some of this stuff.

I really like this station. I used to listen to a lot of classic rock when I was younger on AOR stations. Then, that format dissappeared and we're left with stations that play the 250 songs over and over.

XM's Deep Tracks is a great station, but it can be very, very obscure. That's not a bad thing, there is plenty of room on satellite radio for stations like that. However, for regular listenting, I like a station such as the Vault where I know the artists and they're playing a song from the album that isn't in the regular rotation.

My only slight quibble is that this station leans a bit too much towards Southern Rock.

The Vault is one of my presets. It has introduced me to some good songs that I was unfamiliar with, because they never played on FM classic rock. Although, as I'm typing this, they're playing "Deacon Blues" by Steely Dan. Good song that belongs on Rewind instead.
But, I'd say for the most part, The Vault is deep enough for me.
Good channel!

The playlist on this channel is just about perfect for what it attempts. Most of the songs were commonly heard on rock stations back in the '70s or '80s. They aren't that obscure. But they're not the "Stairway to Heaven"s or "Won't Get Fooled Again"s that were played to death. Those types of songs are the only ones played on FM classic rock stations, so it's great to have a place to hear all the rock songs I loved growing up. I probably recognize 90 percent of these songs, but I'm sick of none of them.

One thing I noticed is how many great classic rock songs were really based on blues music. You can't say that about today's rock music.

This and Vinyl are my preset rock stations. It's about 50/50 split between songs I know and those I don't, but they are all good, which is why I like it.

The Vault is a really good channel. The music is good and the DJ's are, too. I listen every so often, not a lot. I don't think that I'll make it a preset. It's close enough to Classic Rewind...

It's not a bad channel, but I don't usually tune in...although when I did my WTD hour, I heard some cool cuts.

For some reason, when I listen to classic rock, I like to know the songs I am hearing, as opposed to the more obscure stuff.

I had several enjoyable listens to this station this past couple of weeks. I liked this format, and liked what I heard. Nice to hear songs like "Dogs" by Pink Floyd on the radio. I will be back!

I listen to the Vault quite a bit. Great station. I wish they would go a bit deeper, more along the lines of XM's deep tracks...I like to use the channel to find artists with which I'm not familiar, and the Vault only somewhat does the trick, while Deep Tracks really gets me where I want to go.

Not trying to start an argument, but I have to disagree with your statement. I listen to the Vault several times a week, and check out Dogstar Radio playlists frequently.

I've found no evidence that the Vault playlist leans toward Southern Rock.

The Vault wasn't designed to be a channel that plays unfamiliar artists.

It was designed to be a channel that plays deep tracks from rock legends.

Like the description on the official Sirius website says---"Deeper cuts from classic rock legends".

Thankfully, it was never intended to be a Deep Tracks clone, which primarily plays obscure music by obscure artists.

The Vault is an excellent channel. It has one of the largest and least repetitious playlists on Sirius.

It delivers exactly what it promises---deeper cuts from rock legends. The Vault wasn't intended to play obscure cuts from obscure artists, like XM's Deep Tracks primarily does.

Some people mistakenly try to compare it with XM's Deep Tracks, but there is a definite difference in programming philosophy, as I described in my previous paragraph.

The Vault has always been and will remain one of my "A" presets. I give it a definite thumbs up and an overall grade of A-.
