Default WTD 2006 Week 15 - 35 Chill

Take a break in the lounge and wind down with ambient, electronica and downtempo rock in a quiet groove. It's modern mood music that takes the edge off the day.

What we play: Moby, Massive Attack, Dido, Radiohead, Groove Armada, Coldplay and many more.

Listened to it for a while, not bad music. But I doubt, I would tune in again in a while.

I like jazz and soul, but this Chill stuff did not do anything for me. Made me sleepy. The Smooth Jazz station in NYC added some chill music to their playlist for a while, and it did not go over very well.

I have not enjoyed Chill this week. It sort of bored me since I'm not a dance music fan. I'd rate the 4 dance channels that have been featured on WTD in this order: 1. Boombox, 2. Area 33, 3. The Beat, 4. Chill. I'm glad that we only have one dance channel left, and that is The Strobe, I actually like that one.

Chill isn't bad to relax to. It's definitely different though. It's not so much a dance channel, but an electronic music channel hence why the grouping is called dance/electronic. There's constant debating about this in the Dance boards sections. It's to mellow out to. I used to have it programmed with Spa 73 for my son to nap to. I've since gotten rid of both. There's others I like better. I bet Chill would be awesome with some weed.

chill isnt so bad when you just want to relax. or if you want some music in the background and wont be to distracting. i prefer chill over spa73. only downside is the playlist for chill seems limited. i forgot what thread i read this in but it was suggested that sirius should combine spa73 and chill which seems like a good idea

This station is a trainwreck. I like the downtempo electronic music, but then Chill will turn around and play Coldplay next. In fact, several times I checked the display just to make sure I was still on the same station. It doesn't look like Sirius puts much effort into this station. There are no djs and no shows.

I'm thinking Chill is another format which might be better as a speciality show. If they're going to put it in the electronic/dance section at least drop the rock music.

I found this channel mostly boring, except when groups like Postal Service or Coldplay came on. So I like the songs that fans of this channel prefer not to be here.

Chill is ok but has so much untapped potential. Downtempo, trip-hop, acid jazz and electronic have such deep playlists but it doesn't seem to transfer over to the airwaves. As some of you said it's good for relaxing and background music. But for serious electronic music I tune to Channel 93 after 8PM EDT. Simply cannot be beat.

I like Chill. It is designed to relax. I like to listen to this and spa when I want to unwind or when I am reading in the evening.

Combining the two would be a bad idea, IMHO. I've noticed a lot of the music played on Chill can be heard on spa73 and vice versa...but to me the majority of music is not relaxing enough to fall asleep too like spa's is. But I agree it could use a little work.

Thumbs up

This channel is great...

I've been listening to this channel the past few days, and I really like it. I think it's better then Spa73 and JazzCafe71. They don't play Steely Dan on this channel either...

I think I'll make this channel my number two preset. This is the reason why I'm glad Walk The Dog came back...

This wasn't a bad channel to listen to for me. I am not into this genre at all, and knew nothing about it to be honest, but after several listens, i would certainly tune back everynow and then. However, it would only be for those times when i need to unwind/relax, much like the Spa, JazzCafe, etc. But overall, not bad!

Yeah I bet it would be good on some weed. I should have gotten sat when I still smoked. Don't puff anymore. Funny how that is. Since I live in Humboldt county, Ca. For the record I like Chill channel. Just like it says. It's to chill out to. Mornings or evenings is when I like it best.
