Default WTD Week 15 - 23 Hair Nation

Cruise the Sunset Strip with music from the hard rock masters of the '80s. Big hair, big guitars... put your Spandex on and feel the noise from Motley Crue, Poison, Skid Row, Bon Jovi and more!

What we play: Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Guns N’ Roses, Kiss and many more.

Guitar Gods
Daily 5 pm ET
Hair Nation now has a daily block of your favorite Guitar Gods. You'd better take cover when guitar slingers like Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen & Slash let it riff!

Sunset Strip Snack
Daily 11 pm ET
Dangerous Darren serves up a daily block of bands that permeated L.A.'s infamous Sunset Strip in the '80s. Chow down on artists like Motley Crue, Ratt, Poison, L.A. Guns, Guns N' Roses.

I do enjoy listening to Hair Nation and have it as a preset. I crew up listening some of these bands in the late '80s, mainly early '90s.

Hair Nation is one of my presets. I was very pleased to find out that Sirius had a channel like this when I first got Sirius. I was familiar with about half of the songs at first, and have gotten to know and like some more since. I like the mixture of rock songs and rock ballads.

I always get the feeling that this would be one of the top preset channels of most of the people that I went to school with in the 80's and early 90's.

It's always a party on Hair Nation.

I have Hair Nation as a "B" preset. I am a big "decade channel" listener, and sometimes the pop tunes (Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, etc.) get on my nerves...Sometimes you just need to rock out. Tight playlist, but I like the guitar show at 5:00 PM.

I liked this station a lot more than I thought I would. I'm in the age group that listened to this music in middle school and the first part of high school. It made a good driving station as well as a fun station to crank up on my home unit on Saturday afternoon. I'm thinking that repeats might be a problem on this station, however. This is a fairly narrow niche of music and I heard quite a few repeats in the hours I listened this week.

I'll be back from time to time.

About the only regular bands they play on this channel that I like are Guns N Roses and Def Leppard. As for the bulk of the hair bands, I didn't care for them in 1988 and I still don't. Although I heard a lot of GNR, it's not worth sitting through the Skid Row, Poison, etc.

I don't listen regularly, it's fun music to listen to sometimes, though. I definitely tended more towards alternative and dance stuff than this back then.

This is a good channel. I listened yesterday morning, but for some reason, there was a mess up in to recording. The DJ would say that they were going to play an Ozzy song, and a Kiss song would come up. That happened again with a Europe song...

I'm not into this music anymore. I grow up listening to this type of music, but I really don't listen to it anymore. Of the songs that were played in the hour, about half were songs I've never heard before.

Good stuff. I'll listen every once in a while...

This is probably my favorite station on Sirius. I grew up listening to this music and still love it to this day. Sure the playlist isn't the deepest, but who cares? I certainly don't when it comes to this music! long live Hair Nation!
